The ongoing public feud between conservative commentator Candace Owens and the organization Turning Point USA (TPUSA) has reached a critical point. TPUSA has officially announced that Owens will not be part of an upcoming livestream meant to address her serious allegations concerning the death of founder Charlie Kirk.
The Livestream Dispute and Exclusion
The conflict intensified when Blake Neff of TPUSA declared that the group would proceed with a scheduled livestream on December 15 without Owens's participation. This decision came after a heated exchange regarding the format of her involvement. Owens had claimed the event was planned without consulting her, to which Neff responded on social media platform X, stating they had already committed to a formal response.
Neff's decisive message was clear: “Thank you for your response letting us know you will not be joining the in-person conversation. We will be proceeding without you.” This statement effectively shut the door on Owens's involvement in the high-profile broadcast.
Owens's Counter and the Virtual Appearance Debate
Candace Owens countered that she never refused to participate. She explained that an in-person appearance at 2 pm PT on December 15 was impossible because it conflicts with the time she hosts her own daily live podcast. Instead, she proposed joining the TPUSA livestream virtually.
“December 15th does not work in-person and 2pm PT is also literal time I do my podcast LIVE everyday (which you knew), but we will happily cancel the daily podcast and will join you guys virtually instead for the livestream on the 15th if that works on your end?” Owens stated. Her offer to appear remotely was apparently rejected by TPUSA, fueling online speculation that she was avoiding a face-to-face confrontation.
Escalating Tensions and Narrative Control
This exclusion marks a significant escalation in what has rapidly become one of the most contentious episodes in conservative media this year. The controversy stems from Owens's previous claims that TPUSA “betrayed” Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated on September 10. She had been offered a chance to discuss these allegations on The Charlie Kirk Show.
Initially, Owens seemed prepared to engage, but the disagreement over her mode of appearance triggered a wider public debate about her intentions. With Kirk's death still surrounded by public speculation and Owens's accusations gaining attention despite a lack of presented evidence, the December 15 livestream is poised to draw intense scrutiny.
The battle for control over the narrative is already in full swing, even before the broadcast begins. TPUSA's move to proceed solo indicates their strategy to address the allegations directly, but on their own terms, leaving Owens to respond from the sidelines.
