Eric Trump Accuses NYC Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani of 'Hating Indian Population'
Eric Trump: NYC Mayor-Elect 'Hates Indian Population'

Eric Trump, son of former US President Donald Trump, has launched a startling accusation against New York City's mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, claiming the incoming leader hates the Indian population. The controversial remarks were made during a televised interview with Fox News, creating immediate political waves.

The Controversial Comments

During his appearance on the conservative news channel, Eric Trump didn't hold back in his criticism of the newly elected mayor. "There is no place in the world that can compete against New York city. No one can compete yet," he began before turning his attention to Mamdani.

He continued with strong language, stating, "Then you have a socialist, a communist, however you label him — who wants to nationalise grocery stores and wants to arrest Netanyahu. He hates the Jewish people, hates Indian population." The American Bitcoin's co-founder and chief strategy officer suggested that Mamdani should instead prioritize practical urban issues.

Eric Trump emphasized that the city's success depends on focusing on safe streets, clean streets, and reasonable taxes, adding his belief that "The city could thrive without government intervention."

Mamdani's Historic Victory

Zohran Mamdani recently achieved a significant political milestone by winning the New York City mayoral election. He defeated both former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa in a remarkable victory that marks several historic firsts for the city.

Mamdani will become New York City's first Muslim mayor and the first person of South Asian descent to lead America's largest city. His background is particularly noteworthy - he is the Ugandan-born son of acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair and professor Mahmood Mamdani.

The avowed democratic socialist is scheduled to be sworn in on January 1, 2026, when he will become the 111th mayor of New York. His inauguration will represent a watershed moment in the city's diverse political history.

Political Challenges Ahead

As Mayor of New York, Mamdani faces significant challenges from the outset. His key responsibilities will include maintaining a relationship with the White House and delivering on his campaign promises regarding affordability for city residents.

The political opposition is already mounting, with former President Donald Trump repeatedly criticizing Mamdani. The former president has used strong language against the mayor-elect, from calling him a "communist lunatic" to threatening to withhold federal funding from the city.

Financial experts have also expressed concerns about the incoming administration's prospects. Andrew Rein, head of New York City Citizens Budget Commission Organisation, told Politico that Mamdani will be walking into a very challenging fiscal situation with the city budget.

Rein further elaborated that the new mayor will face "a challenging federal situation with changing policies that are going to stress all sorts of systems in the city," indicating that the political and economic landscape presents multiple obstacles for the incoming administration.
