He envisions a "great 12-year span" beginning with a potential second term for former President Donald Trump in 2024, followed by two consecutive presidential terms for his running mate, Senator JD Vance, in 2028 and 2032.

Musk delivered this prediction during a virtual appearance at a private reunion of his former federal cost-cutting team, known as the DOGE team. The event was held in Bastrop, Texas, and attended by approximately 150 current and former members of the group. To ensure secrecy, attendees were required to store their phones in secure pouches for the duration of the gathering, as reported by Politico.
The DOGE team was a savings initiative Musk helped install across federal agencies during the Trump administration, with a mandate to slash government spending and jobs. The program has since been scrapped. Musk, dialing in from a pitch-black and undisclosed location, expressed his gratitude to the alumni for their sacrifices, which included leaving higher-paying private sector roles, facing political backlash, and enduring death threats.
Security Concerns and Strained Ties
Explaining his decision to attend virtually rather than in person, Musk stated he considers himself one of the nation's top assassination targets, ranking behind only Donald Trump and JD Vance. This revelation underscores the intense security concerns surrounding high-profile political figures and their allies.

Musk previously accused Trump of being named in the files related to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein, a claim Trump dismissed by saying Musk had "gone crazy." Musk later apologised for the remark.
