The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has initiated the 50th round of its quarterly Services and Infrastructure Outlook Survey (SIOS) for the reference period July-September 2026, as announced by the central bank on Tuesday. This survey is designed to evaluate business conditions and expectations within critical sectors of the Indian economy.

Survey Objectives and Scope

The survey collects qualitative responses from selected companies in the services and infrastructure sectors, focusing on demand conditions, financial health, employment trends, and price dynamics. According to the RBI statement, the survey assesses the business situation for the current quarter (Q2:2026-27) and gathers expectations for the upcoming quarter (Q3:2026-27). Additionally, it captures the outlook for two subsequent quarters (Q4:2026-27 and Q1:2027-28).

Conduct and Participation

For the July-September 2026 quarter, the RBI has authorized Genesis Management & Market Research Pvt. Ltd. to conduct the survey. Besides the selected firms, other companies in the services and infrastructure sectors are also encouraged to participate by downloading the questionnaire from the RBI website and submitting their responses electronically. The survey findings are published in summary form on the RBI's website, ensuring the anonymity of respondents.
