Tourist Car Association Protests Fuel Price Hike in Jaipur

The All Rajasthan Tourist Car Association staged a protest at the Jaipur District Collectorate on Wednesday, opposing the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices along with several other issues. The association expressed strong resentment over the repeated increases in fuel prices and raised slogans against the Petroleum Minister. Following the demonstration, the tourist car operators submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister to the District Collector.

Key Demands and Concerns

The association highlighted that the issuance of challans for rear bumper guards is unjustified. According to Pradeep Parashar, a representative from the association, these guards provide crucial safety in CNG-fitted vehicles. Without them, a rear-end collision could lead to a major catastrophe involving the explosion of the CNG cylinder. The protesters demanded an immediate rollback of the fuel price hikes and a review of the challan policy for rear bumper guards.

Impact on Tourism Sector

The rising fuel prices have severely affected the tourism sector, particularly tourist car operators who rely heavily on petrol and diesel. The association warned that if their demands are not met, they may resort to stronger forms of protest in the future. The memorandum submitted to the Collector also called for a reduction in taxes on fuel and better regulation of fuel pricing mechanisms.
