Two Held for Selling Hired SUV in Gurugram

In a startling case of fraud, two individuals have been arrested in Gurugram for allegedly selling an SUV that they had hired for a two-day trip. The incident came to light when the vehicle owner reported the SUV missing after the rental period ended.

The Incident

The accused, identified as Ravi and Sumit, had rented the SUV for a two-day excursion from a car rental service in Gurugram. However, instead of returning the vehicle after the agreed-upon period, they allegedly sold it to an unsuspecting buyer. The rental company grew suspicious when the GPS tracking device on the SUV stopped transmitting signals.

Police Investigation

Upon receiving a complaint, the Gurugram police launched an investigation. Using technical surveillance and intelligence, they traced the SUV to a location in Rajasthan. The vehicle was recovered, and the two suspects were apprehended. During interrogation, the accused confessed to selling the SUV for a sum of Rs. 5 lakh.
