Vijayawada MP Chinni accuses brother Nani of ₹120 crore fraud

Vijayawada: The ongoing public feud between Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, popularly known as Chinni, and his elder brother and former MP Kesineni Srinivas (Nani) escalated on Sunday. Chinni accused Nani of involvement in a ₹120-crore bank loan fraud and alleged that he received undue support from bank officials.

Responding to recent remarks made by the former MP, Chinni launched a sharp counterattack. He claimed that Nani had obtained a loan of around ₹120 crore from a nationalised bank and failed to repay it, resulting in the account being classified as a non-performing asset (NPA) during 2016-17.

Addressing media, Chinni questioned why recovery proceedings had allegedly not been initiated despite the loan remaining unsettled for several years. The Vijayawada MP further alleged that bank officials had been influenced and that their role in the matter raised serious questions. He claimed that despite the loan becoming an NPA, no effective recovery measures were taken for more than a decade.

The MP said he possesses documentary evidence to support his allegations. There was no immediate response from former MP Kesineni Nani to the allegations.

The latest exchange marks a further escalation in the increasingly public and bitter dispute between the two brothers, both prominent political figures from Vijayawada.
