Indian Railways Rolls Out 100th Vande Bharat Train

Indian Railways achieved a significant milestone on Saturday by rolling out the 100th Vande Bharat train from the Modern Coach Factory (MCF) in Raebareli. This marks a major step in the journey that began in 2018 with only two such trains.

Testing and Validation

Before this 16-coach chair-car trainset is inducted into regular passenger service, it will undergo oscillation trials to validate ride quality, safety parameters, and dynamic performance. These tests are crucial to ensure the train meets the highest standards of reliability and passenger comfort.

Expansion of Production

The production of Vande Bharat trains initially started at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai. Subsequently, manufacturing was extended to the Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Kapurthala and now to the Modern Coach Factory in Raebareli. This expansion reflects the government's commitment to boosting indigenous manufacturing under the 'Make in India' initiative.

Engineering Enhancements

In an official release, the national transporter highlighted that the MCF-manufactured trainset incorporates notable engineering and performance enhancements. These improvements are aimed at increasing reliability and safety, further elevating the travel experience for passengers. Key upgrades include advanced braking systems, improved suspension, and enhanced fire safety measures.

The rollout of the 100th Vande Bharat train underscores Indian Railways' progress in modernizing its fleet and promoting self-reliance in train manufacturing. With the addition of this trainset, the Vande Bharat fleet continues to expand, offering faster, safer, and more comfortable travel across the country.
