The Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) is set to construct its first 10-storey residential tower for government employees in Jaipur, marking a significant shift in its housing strategy. Although initially planned for JDA officials and employees of other government departments, this project could shape future high-rise housing under JDA schemes.
Project Location and Scope
The proposed tower will be built on a vacant plot opposite the state Police Headquarters in Lalkothi. It is expected to house more than 250 flats. Officials cited a shortage of residential quarters for JDA and other department staff in Malviya Nagar and Lal Kothi as the reason for the move. Currently, old and dilapidated JDA quarters occupy the site, and these structures will be demolished to make way for the modern complex.
Amenities and Flat Types
The tower will include 3-BHK and 4-BHK flats designed to offer improved housing for government officials. In addition to residential units, the project will feature several supporting amenities within the premises, including a shopping area, indoor sports facilities, a gymnasium, and a community hall.
Cost and Timeline
According to a JDA official, the project will be developed on approximately 14,000 square meters of land and is expected to cost around Rs 200 crore. The official stated, "We have already drafted a proposal regarding this project. Consequently, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and other associated procedures are set to be initiated shortly."
Allocation Priority
JDA officials will receive first preference for the flats. If any units remain available, they will be offered to other government departments. This initiative reflects the JDA's commitment to addressing housing shortages and modernizing its residential infrastructure.
