Physics Wallah CEO Donates Rs 10 Lakh to Tribal Man

In a remarkable act of compassion, Alakh Pandey, founder and CEO of the edtech platform Physics Wallah, has donated Rs 10 lakh to Jitu Munda, a tribal man from Keonjhar district in Odisha. Munda had exhumed his sister's remains to present them as proof of death before a bank.

Background of the Incident

On April 27, Munda exhumed the body of his sister and took her skeleton to the Malliposi branch of the Odisha Grameen Bank in Keonjhar district. He did this to prove that his sister was deceased in order to withdraw money from her bank account. The extraordinary step was taken due to the bank's requirement for proof of death, which Munda could not provide through conventional means.

Reaction from Political Leaders

Leader of Opposition in Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, thanked Alakh Pandey for his noble gesture. Patnaik appreciated Pandey's generosity and empathy, highlighting the importance of such acts in society. The donation has brought significant attention to the plight of tribal communities and the bureaucratic hurdles they often face.
