SpiceJet Flight Schedule Revised, Adds Gulf Flights Amid Conflict

SpiceJet Adjusts Delhi-Kolkata Flight Timing and Expands Gulf Operations

In response to operational needs, SpiceJet has announced a revision to the schedule of its flight SG 263. The flight, which operates from Delhi's Terminal 1D to Kolkata's Terminal 2, will now depart at 9:40 AM on March 10, 2026, arriving at 12:00 PM. This change is part of the airline's efforts to manage disruptions caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

Enhanced Connectivity Amid Regional Tensions

Alongside the schedule adjustment, SpiceJet, in coordination with Akasa Air, has initiated additional flight operations to support passenger travel between India and the Gulf region. The airlines are adapting to airspace restrictions and other challenges stemming from the West Asia conflict to ensure smoother connectivity for affected travelers.

In a recent statement, SpiceJet confirmed it will operate multiple special flights from Dubai to various Indian cities. This initiative aims to assist passengers who have faced cancellations and delays due to the volatile situation in the region.

Safe Return of Passengers from UAE

Earlier, a SpiceJet flight SG 9073 successfully transported passengers from Fujairah in the UAE to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. These passengers had traveled to attend the Vijay Ratna award function on February 28 but encountered difficulties when multiple flights were canceled amid rising tensions.

Approximately 50 awardees and journalists were on board the flight. Among them was Vivekanand Hodekar from Karnataka, who expressed relief after his initial flight was canceled. He acknowledged the support from Vijayanand Roadlines Limited Group chairman Vijay Sankeshwar, who arranged food, accommodation, and alternate return flights for the group.

A journalist covering the event shared his experience, noting that his flights on March 1 and March 3 were canceled. With Sankeshwar's assistance, he was able to book a SpiceJet flight on March 6, ultimately reuniting with his family safely. He stated, "My family was waiting for me, and I was very tense. I am happy to have reached home safely."

The coordinated efforts between the airline and local organizers ensured the safe return of all passengers, highlighting the resilience in managing travel uncertainties during the conflict.

Looking Ahead

As the West Asia situation continues to evolve, SpiceJet remains committed to providing reliable services and supporting passengers through schedule adjustments and expanded flight operations. Travelers are advised to check the airline's website for the latest updates on flight status and itinerary changes.
