Thief steals Rs 9.55 lakh from Nagpur spice warehouse

A thief broke into a spice warehouse under the Kalamna police station limits in Nagpur and decamped with Rs 9.55 lakh in cash. The warehouse is owned by Nandlal Natwarlal Lahoti (45), a resident of Tulsi Apartment, Telephone Exchange Chowk.

How the theft occurred

According to police, Lahoti had locked the premises on Saturday evening. The accused allegedly removed a tin sheet from the structure to gain entry and then stole Rs 9.55 lakh kept in a drawer inside a cabin. The theft came to light on Monday, after which Lahoti lodged a complaint.

Investigation underway

Kalamna police have registered a case and launched a probe into the incident. Authorities are examining CCTV footage and questioning nearby residents to identify the suspect.
