Amritsar, March 15, 2025: Hindu College in Amritsar successfully organized a Rozgar Mela (job fair) on its campus, resulting in the selection of 125 students by various companies. The event witnessed participation from 30 reputed firms, offering diverse job roles to the candidates.
Job Fair Highlights
The Rozgar Mela was inaugurated by the college principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, who emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academia and industry. He stated that the college is committed to enhancing the employability of its students through regular skill development programs and placement drives.
Representatives from participating companies conducted interviews and shortlisted candidates based on their academic performance, communication skills, and technical expertise. The selected students will receive offer letters within a week, with positions ranging from entry-level to management trainee roles.
Company Participation
Among the 30 companies present were leading names in sectors such as information technology, banking, retail, and manufacturing. Notable participants included HDFC Bank, TCS, Reliance Retail, and several local enterprises. The companies appreciated the quality of students and the efficient organization of the event.
Student Response
Over 500 students registered for the job fair, and more than 300 attended the interviews. The enthusiasm among students was palpable, with many expressing gratitude for the opportunity to interact directly with recruiters. Priya Sharma, a final-year B.Com student who secured a position, said, "This mela provided a great platform for us to showcase our skills. I am thrilled to have been selected."
The college placement cell, led by Professor Anil Gupta, played a crucial role in coordinating the event. Gupta mentioned that the cell has been actively working to bring more companies to campus and plans to organize similar events in the future.
