CII Rajasthan Announces Major Employment Drive with 25,000 Jobs and Skill Training
Jaipur: In a significant boost to employment prospects, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Rajasthan made a landmark pledge on Thursday to distribute 25,000 job appointment letters to unemployed youth throughout the state. This ambitious commitment was unveiled during the industry body's annual convention, which was graced by the presence of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Details of the Employment and Skill Development Initiative
CII-Rajasthan chairman Sanjay Agarwal revealed that approximately 20 member companies have agreed to recruit 25,000 candidates within the next six months. Additionally, the initiative includes plans to provide skill training to 10,000 youths over the coming year, with a direct linkage to recruitment opportunities to ensure seamless transition into the workforce.
Chief Minister Sharma, addressing the convention attendees, emphasized the importance of fostering entrepreneurship among the youth. He stated, "India needs more job creators rather than job seekers," highlighting Rajasthan's vast potential to cultivate a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. Sharma also underscored the critical need to enhance rural infrastructure and opportunities to promote balanced regional development across the state.
Government Collaboration and Future Prospects
The Chief Minister pointed out that Rajasthan currently offers a conducive environment for growth, citing improvements in law and order, a reduction in crime rates, and enhanced connectivity through expanded air and rail networks. He expressed the government's eagerness to partner with CII on skill development programs through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and Skill Centres, which are projected to generate approximately 2 lakh (200,000) jobs over the next three years.
Sharma further sought CII's assistance in the government's deregulation efforts aimed at improving the ease of doing business and in initiatives focused on women's development, stressing the pivotal role of industry in shaping Rajasthan's economic trajectory.
Key Expectations from Industry and Government Synergy
Outlining the government's expectations from the industry body, Chief Secretary V Srinivas echoed the call for collaboration on skill development through ITIs and Skill Centres, reiterating the job creation target of around 2 lakh positions in the next three years. He also requested CII's support in the government's deregulation exercises to streamline business operations and in advancing women's development programs, reinforcing the shared commitment to economic progress and social upliftment in Rajasthan.
