CII Trichy Zone Launches Indian Women Network to Empower Women Entrepreneurs

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Trichy zone, has officially launched the Indian Women Network (IWN), a dedicated vertical aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs and supporting women professionals. This initiative was announced during the annual session held on Friday night, where CII also appointed a new chairman and vice-chairman for the zone.

Objectives and Focus of the Indian Women Network

According to CII members, the IWN will concentrate on helping women entrepreneurs, professionals, and students overcome challenges and achieve success in their business ventures. A key objective is to generate employment opportunities by making the industrial and entrepreneurial environment more conducive for women. This includes enabling them to pitch business ideas and scale up existing models effectively.

The network will provide comprehensive support through mentorship, networking opportunities, skill development programs, and policy advocacy. By fostering leadership skills, the IWN aims to transform both the professional and personal journeys of women in business.

Leadership Appointments for IWN and CII Trichy Zone

To lead the IWN, R Bhargavi of MPR Foods has been appointed as the convenor, and Yamini Karthikeyan of Velmurugan Heavy Engineering Industries as the co-convenor. Yamini emphasized that the network will play a crucial role in enhancing leadership capabilities among women entrepreneurs.

In addition, V Sivaramakrishnan, founder of Sri Velavan Agro, has been appointed as the chairman of the CII Trichy zone for the year 2026-27. He is involved in the manufacturing and export of value-added millet and food products. S Anand, managing partner of Jeyam Builders, was appointed as the vice-chairman. Anand has previously served as chairman of the Credai Trichy chapter and state secretary of Credai Tamil Nadu.

The launch of the Indian Women Network marks a significant step towards gender inclusivity in the business sector in Trichy.
