Gorakhpur GIDA's 36th Foundation Day: CM Yogi to Launch Rs 408 Cr Projects
CM Yogi Inaugurates Rs 408 Cr Projects at GIDA Event

The Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) is set to mark a significant milestone this Saturday as it celebrates its 36th foundation day with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath presiding as the chief guest.

The event promises to be a major catalyst for the region's economic growth, with the Chief Minister scheduled to inaugurate a slew of development projects valued at a substantial Rs 408 crore.

Major Investments and Job Creation

In a move set to significantly boost industrial activity, CM Adityanath will formally hand over land allotment certificates to five major investors. This initiative is a crucial component of a larger Rs 6,139 crore investment plan that is poised to transform the industrial landscape of the region.

GIDA's CEO, Anju Malik, provided impressive figures to underscore the year's progress. She revealed that 115 industrial plots have been successfully allocated this year alone, covering a vast total area of 8,71,841 square meters.

The cumulative impact of these industrial and infrastructure initiatives is projected to generate over 11,000 new jobs, offering a substantial boost to local employment and the economy.

Infrastructure and Skill Development Initiatives

The foundation day ceremony will see the launch of critical infrastructure projects designed to support the growing industrial hub. These include the construction of new electrical substations, the strengthening of existing power feeders, vital road improvement works, and comprehensive water supply and drainage systems.

Beyond hard infrastructure, GIDA has also placed a strong emphasis on human capital development. In a strategic partnership with NIELIT, a skill development centre has been established to provide free training to local youth.

To date, this centre has already trained 817 young individuals across 13 different courses, enhancing their employability. During the event, the Chief Minister will personally distribute certificates to five of these successfully trained students.

UP State Trade Show and Broader Impact

Adding to the festivities, the event will also host the UP State Trade Show. This exhibition will serve as a dynamic platform to showcase a wide array of products, including prominent items from the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, alongside other local and state-level goods.

The trade show is designed not only to highlight the diversity of local businesses but also to illuminate various government schemes and their achievements for the public.

The 36th GIDA foundation day, therefore, stands as a multifaceted event, signaling a powerful push for industrial growth, infrastructure modernization, and skill development in Gorakhpur and the wider Purvanchal region.
