East Central Railway Honors 16 Women Employees for Empowerment and Service
In a significant event promoting gender equality and recognition, the East Central Railway Women Welfare Organisation (ECRWWO) felicitated sixteen women employees of the East Central Railway (ECR) at a ceremony held at the Patliputra Rail Parishar in Patna on Saturday evening. The program was specifically designed to advance women empowerment within the railway sector and to acknowledge the dedicated services of female staff across various operational fields.
Recognition of Dedicated Contributions
Saraswati Chandra, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of ECR, emphasized that the felicitation initiative aims to highlight and celebrate the growing role of women in strengthening and developing the railway network. "Their contributions reflect commitment, efficiency and a growing role of women in strengthening railway operations," Chandra stated, underscoring the importance of such recognition in fostering an inclusive work environment.
The honored employees were presented with cash rewards and commendation certificates by Sunita Singh, the President of ECRWWO, during the event. This gesture not only rewards their hard work but also sets a precedent for acknowledging female achievements in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
Notable Honoree and Distinguished Service
Among the felicitated individuals was Nishi Kumari, an accountant with ECR, who has previously been recognized by the Railway Women’s Cultural and Civic Organisation for her distinguished services. Her inclusion highlights the diverse roles—from finance to operations—that women are excelling in within the railway system, contributing significantly to its overall efficiency and growth.
Prominent Attendees and Organizational Support
The ceremony was attended by several prominent members of the ECRWWO, including Ranjana Kumar, Manisha Sinha, Poonam Srivastava, and Priyanka Singh, among others. Their presence underscored the organization's commitment to supporting and uplifting women in the railway community, ensuring that such empowerment efforts receive the necessary backing and visibility.
This event marks a continued effort by ECR to integrate and celebrate women's contributions, aligning with broader national goals of gender equality and workforce diversity. By honoring these employees, ECR not only boosts morale but also inspires future generations of women to pursue careers in railways and similar sectors, thereby driving long-term development and innovation.
