Exicom Opens Major EV Charging Plant in Hyderabad

Exicom Unveils Integrated Manufacturing Hub in Hyderabad to Ramp Up EV Charging Solutions

Hyderabad: In a significant move to bolster India's electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, Exicom Tele-Systems Limited, a leading manufacturer of EV charging and critical power solutions, has inaugurated its state-of-the-art integrated manufacturing facility in Hyderabad. This strategic expansion is designed to dramatically scale the production of EV charging equipment, advanced lithium-ion battery systems, and critical power solutions, positioning the company for robust growth in both domestic and international markets.

Massive Investment and Production Capacity Details

Constructed with an investment of approximately Rs 216 crore, the sprawling plant covers 18.4 acres and features a built-up area of 2.8 lakh square feet. According to Anant Nahata, CEO and Managing Director of Exicom, this facility is set to increase the company's overall production capacity by 2.5 times in Phase I alone. The project is already generating substantial employment opportunities, with over 450 employees hired and a total of more than 750 jobs expected to be created, contributing significantly to the local economy.

The new facility boasts impressive production capabilities. It can currently manufacture 1 lakh AC chargers annually, with plans to add another production line that will double this capacity to 2 lakh units. Additionally, the plant is equipped to produce up to 4,000 high-power DC fast chargers, 50,000 critical power systems, and gigawatt-hour-scale battery packs all under one roof, enhancing operational efficiency and supply chain management.

Strategic Focus on Exports and Market Expansion

While the facility will serve both domestic and export markets, Nahata emphasized that exports will be a major focus area. Key target regions include Southeast Asia and Africa, where demand for EV infrastructure is rapidly growing. This export-oriented strategy aligns with global trends towards sustainable energy solutions and positions Exicom as a competitive player in the international arena.

The choice of Hyderabad for this facility was driven by several factors, including its central location, supportive government policies, and quick clearance processes. These advantages are expected to facilitate smooth operations and timely market deliveries, reinforcing Exicom's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction in the evolving EV sector.
