In Lucknow, the newly appointed national president of FICCI FLO, Puja Garg, emphasized on Friday that Uttar Pradesh's growth narrative remains incomplete without the robust involvement of women entrepreneurs. She asserted that establishing a women-exclusive industrial park would significantly accelerate the state's developmental trajectory.
Modeled on Hyderabad's Success
Garg highlighted that India's inaugural all-women industrial park is operational in Hyderabad. She expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh possesses all the essential components to replicate a similar facility. "We are actively engaged in advocating for this initiative with the state government," she stated, underscoring the ongoing efforts to make this vision a reality.
Strategic Sector Focus
Aligning with contemporary trends and industrial demands, FICCI FLO has pinpointed four pivotal sectors that are currently propelling the economy and generating employment opportunities:
- Textiles and Handlooms: Leveraging traditional crafts and modern manufacturing.
- Agriculture and Agro-processing: Enhancing value addition in the agricultural sector.
- Green Technologies: Promoting sustainable and eco-friendly innovations.

Simultaneously, Simran Sahni, the newly appointed chairperson of FLO Lucknow, revealed that the national organization has authorized the inclusion of a fifth goal, granting local chapters the autonomy to determine its focus based on regional priorities.

For Uttar Pradesh, the chapter has strategically chosen tourism and hospitality as this additional goal. Sahni elaborated, "Considering the state's rapidly expanding tourism economy, we believe this sector holds immense potential for women-led enterprises." This decision aims to capitalize on Uttar Pradesh's rich cultural heritage and increasing tourist influx, thereby fostering entrepreneurial opportunities in hospitality, travel services, and related industries.
