GNIDA Launches Tender for Major Logistics Park in Greater Noida
The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) has initiated a significant step forward in regional infrastructure development by issuing a tender to appoint a developer for a large-scale multi-modal logistics park. This ambitious project is slated for construction in the Kappa-II area, strategically positioned near the Inland Container Depot (ICD) in Dadri.
Strategic Location and Project Scope
Encompassing a vast 174 acres, the proposed logistics facility boasts a prime location that offers substantial advantages. It is situated in close proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport and will benefit from direct access to both the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors. This connectivity is expected to position Greater Noida as a premier industrial and logistics hub in the National Capital Region.
"This project will significantly enhance Greater Noida's reputation as a robust industrial center with superior logistic facilities. It is designed to reduce logistics costs for businesses operating in the region," stated GNIDA Additional CEO Saumya Srivastava.
Investment, Job Creation, and Developer Criteria
The project represents a major economic undertaking with far-reaching benefits:
- The selected developer is mandated to invest a minimum of approximately Rs 1,000 crore into the park's development.
- It is projected to generate around 5,000 new jobs, providing a substantial boost to local employment.
- The land allotment will be on a leasehold basis for 90 years.
- Interested applicants must demonstrate a proven track record, with at least 10 years of experience in the logistics sector to qualify for the tender.
The registration process for the tender commenced on March 28, with the final submission deadline set for June 27. The date for the subsequent e-auction will be announced by the authorities at a later time.
Project Evolution and Competitive Bidding
GNIDA originally launched this initiative last year, receiving initial proposals from three prominent firms: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd, Super Handlers, and Empezar Logistics. Following a thorough evaluation of these proposals, the Authority has now progressed to the formal tendering stage. The developer will be finalized through an e-tendering process, where the project will be awarded to the highest bidder.
Infrastructure and Facilities
The logistics park is designed to be a comprehensive facility, covering approximately 7 lakh square meters dedicated to core logistics and warehousing operations. The land reserve price has been established at Rs 11,000 per square meter.
The planned infrastructure includes a wide array of specialized facilities:
- Container terminals and expansive cargo yards.
- Cold storage warehouses and facilities for handling bulk and break-bulk cargo.
- Rail-linked multimodal logistics systems for efficient cargo handling and transportation.
- Dedicated cargo handling yards equipped with mechanized solutions.
- Advanced mechanized warehousing and specialized storage solutions.
- Trucking business facilities to support seamless first- and last-mile transportation of goods.
Regional Impact and Complementary Development
Officials emphasize that this logistics park is anticipated to serve as a major catalyst for industrial growth across the region. It directly addresses a critical challenge faced by local industries: the need for efficient, integrated, and cost-effective logistics solutions. By consolidating road, rail, and air connectivity at a single location, the multimodal park will reduce reliance on fragmented transport systems. This integration is expected to enable industries to accelerate the movement of raw materials and finished goods while simultaneously lowering overall logistics expenditures.
This new park will complement another multimodal logistics hub currently under development by the Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited. That project is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) initiative and is located in Bodaki, further strengthening the region's logistics framework.
