A young worker from Uttar Pradesh has died nearly ten days after a severe accident at an industrial fabrication unit in Gurgaon's Sector 37. The tragic incident highlights ongoing concerns about workplace safety in industrial zones.
Details of the Fatal Gurgaon Industrial Accident
The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Ravi Kumar, who originally hailed from Hatiya village in Prayagraj district, Uttar Pradesh. He was employed at the SK Fabrication Company, located in Sector 37, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sector 10 police station.
According to police reports, the industrial accident occurred on December 25. Kumar was operating a machine at the factory when a part of it suddenly struck his head, causing critical injuries. The impact resulted in severe head trauma.
Medical Treatment and Fatal Outcome
Following the accident, Ravi Kumar was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Sector 90. He remained admitted there for several days, fighting for his life. Despite medical efforts, his condition did not improve.
Kumar passed away on January 4 while still undergoing treatment. Police officials confirmed that the company spent approximately Rs 11 lakh on his medical care during this period.
Police Inquiry and Family's Response
Authorities have recorded statements from the victim's family members. A police officer involved stated, "So far, the family has not raised any allegations or submitted a formal complaint."
After a post-mortem examination was conducted on Monday, the body was handed over to Kumar's family for the last rites. No formal case has been registered at this stage. Police have indicated that further legal action will depend on the outcome of their ongoing inquiry or if the family decides to file a complaint in the future.
