Jhansi Takes Lead in UP Defence Corridor with Major Land Allocation Plan

The Jhansi node has clearly established itself as the prime destination for investors looking at the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor. The Yogi Adityanath government now plans to allocate nearly 1,000 acres of additional land in this region. This strategic move aims to transform investment proposals into actual manufacturing units on the ground.

Significant Investment Potential Unlocked

Government officials confirm that the proposed land allotments across various nodes of the defence corridor could unlock substantial investments. The total value of these potential investments reaches around Rs 3,500 crore. This development marks a significant step forward for the state's defence manufacturing ambitions.

Major Players Show Strong Interest in Jhansi

Goodluck Astra has already proposed a major investment of Rs 1,000 crore at the Jhansi node. The company plans to utilize 247 acres of land for this purpose. Another key player, Redwood Hughes, submitted a proposal to invest Rs 700 crore over a similar land area. Several other companies including Citadel and Gurutva have also expressed serious interest in defence and allied manufacturing activities in the region.

Growing Traction Across All Corridor Nodes

While Jhansi currently leads the pack, other nodes of the defence corridor are also witnessing increased investor attention. The growing traction is particularly noticeable in high-technology segments. This indicates a broader positive trend for the entire Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor project.

The state government's proactive approach to land allocation demonstrates its commitment to transforming investment interest into tangible industrial growth. The focus on creating actual manufacturing units reflects a practical strategy to boost the defence production ecosystem in Uttar Pradesh.
