Karnataka government allocates Rs 70 crore for Bengaluru footpath repairs
The Karnataka government has announced a Rs 70 crore allocation for the repair and maintenance of footpaths across Bengaluru. The decision comes after a large-scale clearing operation that removed unauthorized structures and debris from pedestrian pathways.

During the operation, officials removed 31 petty shops, 56 push carts, 54 canopies, 72 steps and ramps, 74 advertisement boards, and nearly 25 tonnes of construction debris. The drive aimed to reclaim footpaths for pedestrian use and improve urban mobility.

The footpath repair project is expected to cover major roads and commercial areas in the city. According to officials, the initiative will enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians, reducing accidents and congestion.
