Mahindra XUV 7XO Launched: Price Starts at ₹13.66 Lakh, Deliveries Begin Jan 14
Mahindra XUV 7XO Launched from ₹13.66 Lakh

Mahindra & Mahindra has officially unveiled its new flagship internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV, the Mahindra XUV 7XO. This much-anticipated model is a comprehensively updated and rebadged version of the popular XUV700. The SUV enters the market with an aggressive starting price of ₹13.66 lakh (ex-showroom), going all the way up to ₹24.92 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top-end variant.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Variant-Wise Pricing and Powertrain Options

The new XUV 7XO is offered in a wide array of six variants: AX, AX3, AX5, AX7, AX7 T, and AX7 L. These variants are spread across multiple powertrain and seating configurations. Contrary to earlier speculation that it would share its front design with the electric XEV 9S, the production model features a front fascia more aligned with its smaller sibling, the XUV 3XO.

Buyers can choose between a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre diesel unit. Transmission options include a manual gearbox and an automatic torque converter. The petrol variants are priced between ₹13.66 lakh and ₹23.64 lakh, while the diesel models range from ₹14.96 lakh to ₹24.92 lakh. The top-tier AX7 L variant with the diesel automatic all-wheel-drive (AWD) commands the peak price of ₹24.92 lakh.

Key Price Points:

  • Entry-level: 2.0L Turbo-Petrol MT AX variant at ₹13.66 lakh.
  • Mid-range highlight: 2.2L Diesel MT AX5 variant at ₹17.99 lakh.
  • Top 7-seater: 2.2L Diesel AT AX7 L (7-seater) at ₹24.11 lakh.
  • Flagship: 2.2L Diesel AT AWD AX7 L at ₹24.92 lakh.

Booking Status and Phased Delivery Schedule

Mahindra had already started accepting bookings for the XUV 7XO in mid-December 2024. The company has now announced that deliveries will commence from January 14, 2025. However, there is a phased delivery plan in place.

The automaker will initially deliver the higher-spec variants first. Customers who have booked the AX7, AX7 T, and AX7 L trims will start receiving their vehicles from the January 14 launch date. For those opting for the more affordable AX, AX3, and AX5 variants, the wait will be significantly longer, with deliveries scheduled to begin only in April 2026.

Market Expectations and Potential Waiting Period

Given that the XUV 7XO is essentially a refreshed version of the highly successful XUV700, market analysts anticipate strong demand. Mahindra SUVs traditionally command long waiting periods, especially during the initial launch phase. This trend is expected to continue with the XUV 7XO, particularly for the higher variants that will be delivered first. Prospective buyers should be prepared for extended delivery timelines as the company ramps up production to meet the anticipated influx of orders.

The launch of the XUV 7XO strengthens Mahindra's portfolio in the competitive SUV segment, offering customers a familiar yet updated package with a new identity and refreshed styling cues from the XUV 3XO.
