Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price hike of up to Rs 30,000 across select models sold through its premium Nexa dealership network. The revised prices came into effect on June 29, 2026. The affected models include the Baleno, Fronx, Jimny, and Invicto.
Price Increase Details
The price increase varies by model and variant. The Baleno, a popular hatchback, sees a hike of up to Rs 15,000. The Fronx, a compact SUV, has become more expensive by up to Rs 20,000. The off-road oriented Jimny gets a price increase of up to Rs 25,000, while the MPV Invicto sees the highest hike of Rs 30,000.
According to Maruti Suzuki, the price revision is due to rising input costs and commodity prices. The company stated, “We have been forced to pass on a part of the increased cost to customers. This adjustment is necessary to maintain the quality and features of our vehicles.”
Impact on Customers
Customers planning to purchase these models will now have to pay more. For instance, the entry-level Baleno now starts at Rs 6.66 lakh (ex-showroom), up from Rs 6.51 lakh. The Fronx base variant is now priced at Rs 7.51 lakh, while the Jimny starts at Rs 12.74 lakh. The Invicto, the most expensive among the four, now begins at Rs 25.74 lakh.
Despite the hike, Maruti Suzuki continues to offer discounts and exchange bonuses on select variants to boost sales. The company sold over 2 million units in the last fiscal year, and Nexa models contribute significantly to its premium segment growth.
Market Context
This price hike comes amid a competitive market where rivals like Hyundai, Tata Motors, and Kia have also increased prices recently. Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa network, launched in 2015, focuses on premium customer experience and has been expanding its portfolio. The Baleno remains a strong seller, while the Jimny and Invicto cater to niche segments.
Industry analysts suggest that the price increase may slightly impact demand in the short term, but the overall strong order book for these models is expected to cushion the effect. Maruti Suzuki has assured that it will continue to absorb a portion of the cost increase to keep vehicles affordable.
