Nagpur's Mahalakshmi Saras 2026 Exhibition Achieves Rs5 Crore Sales Milestone in Opening Week
The state-level Mahalakshmi Saras 2026 exhibition, currently underway at Reshimbagh in Nagpur, has demonstrated remarkable commercial success by recording over Rs5 crore in sales within just the first week of its operation. The exhibition, which was inaugurated on March 11, has attracted substantial visitor turnout, reflecting strong public interest in products crafted by women self-help groups (SHGs) from across Maharashtra.
Consistent Footfall and Impressive Daily Sales Figures
Speaking to media representatives on Wednesday, Vinayak Mahamuni, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nagpur Zilla Parishad, confirmed that the exhibition has maintained consistent footfall and steady business since its opening day. He revealed that average daily sales have been hovering around Rs50 lakh, with Sunday alone witnessing an exceptional business worth Rs92 lakh – marking the highest single-day sale recorded so far during the event.
Food Stalls Emerge as Primary Attraction
Officials have identified food stalls as the biggest draw for visitors, with traditional culinary items receiving overwhelming response. The most popular products include:
- Various regional snacks
- Homemade pickles and preserves
- Authentic spices and masalas
- Ready-to-eat food products
The substantial popularity of these food stalls has contributed significantly to the overall turnover, demonstrating the public's appreciation for authentic, locally-produced food items.
Strong Performance by Individual Self-Help Groups
Several participating women self-help groups have reported impressive individual performance during the exhibition's initial days. According to organizers, numerous SHGs have achieved sales ranging between Rs4 lakh and Rs5 lakh each within the first few days of operation. This performance indicates growing consumer trust in locally made, handmade, and chemical-free products that emphasize quality and authenticity.

The Mahalakshmi Saras 2026 exhibition is organized by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department in association with Umed Maharashtra State Rural Livelihoods Mission and Nagpur Zilla Parishad. The event features:
