Punjab Minister Urges Industrialists to Scale Up Investments at Progressive Summit
In a compelling address at the Progressive Punjab Investors' Summit held in Chandigarh, Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora made a direct appeal to industry tycoons to significantly increase their financial commitments to the state. Arora revealed that he had received information about ArcelorMittal's potential plans to establish a massive Rs 1.15 lakh crore plant in Andhra Pradesh. "Please reconsider. Turning his attention to Sajjan Jindal of the JSW Group, Arora acknowledged Jindal's previous announcement of a Rs 1,500 crore investment during a meeting in Mumbai. He elaborated, "You mentioned jugad. Jugad is start-up. Our ancestors who came from Pakistan after the Partition began as a start-up. Jugad is famous in Punjab, and we are proud of it."
