Skoda Auto India launched the updated Kodiaq RS, the performance-oriented variant of its flagship SUV, at a starting price of Rs 66.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The company announced that the first batch of 500 units was sold out within just six minutes of bookings opening, underscoring the strong demand for the vehicle in the Indian market.
Pricing and Variants
The Kodiaq RS is offered in a single fully-loaded trim. The price of Rs 66.99 lakh makes it one of the most expensive SUVs in Skoda’s Indian lineup. Bookings opened online on July 3, 2026, and the rapid sell-out caught the company by surprise, according to a Skoda Auto India spokesperson.
Key Specifications
The Kodiaq RS is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbocharged petrol engine that produces 245 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox and features all-wheel drive as standard. The SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds, making it the fastest Skoda model sold in India.
Design and Features
Exterior updates include a sporty RS body kit, blacked-out grille, LED matrix headlights, and 20-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets sports seats with RS embroidery, a virtual cockpit, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a Canton sound system. Safety features include nine airbags, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera.
Market Impact
According to Skoda Auto India, the overwhelming response indicates a growing appetite for high-performance SUVs in the country. The company plans to increase production to meet the backlog of orders. Deliveries for the first batch are expected to begin in August 2026. The Kodiaq RS competes with the Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line and the Hyundai Tucson N Line.
Customer Response
“We are thrilled by the response. The Kodiaq RS has struck a chord with enthusiasts who want a practical SUV with thrilling performance,” said a Skoda India official. The company has not yet announced when the next batch will open for bookings.
