Ahmedabad Property Registrations Surge to 2.77 Lakh in 2025, Women Benefit from Rs 82 Crore Relief
The Gujarat government announced in the state assembly on Friday that Ahmedabad district witnessed a significant surge in property registrations, with a total of 2,77,381 properties registered between April 2025 and December 2025. This data highlights robust real estate activity in the region during this period.
Women Property Owners Receive Substantial Stamp Duty Relief
Of the total registrations, 29,355 properties were registered in the names of women. In a move to promote women's ownership, the government granted relief amounting to Rs 81.77 crore in stamp duty and registration fees for these transactions. This initiative aims to empower women financially and encourage their participation in the property market.
State Seeks Central Aid for Natural Disaster Relief
In response to a question by Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani, the state government disclosed that it has sought financial assistance from the Union government for natural disasters. For the year 2024, the state requested Rs 11,274.02 crore, while for 2025, the demand was Rs 7,013.58 crore. So far, the Union government has sanctioned Rs 394.28 crore against the 2024 aid request, with the 2025 demand still under consideration.
Marine Erosion Control Project Sanctioned for Udwada
The government also announced a project to address coastal erosion in Udwada, Valsad district. A sum of Rs 29.95 crore has been sanctioned for containing marine erosion in this area. In reply to a query by MLA Bharat Patel, officials confirmed that work on this project is currently ongoing, aiming to protect the coastline and local communities.
Drinking Water Supply Project for Kutch Border Outposts
Additionally, the state government has sanctioned Rs 58.41 crore for a project to provide drinking water supply through pipelines to 33 border outposts in Kutch district. The project, which began on November 7, 2025, is designed to ensure reliable water access for security personnel and residents in these remote areas.
These announcements underscore the government's focus on infrastructure development, disaster management, and social welfare initiatives in Gujarat.
