Tirupati: Leading automobile manufacturer Ashok Leyland Limited donated a truck valued at Rs 31.72 lakh to the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Saturday. Ashok Leyland group president Sanjeev Kumar offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple and later took part in special rituals performed for the new truck in front of the Srivari temple on Saturday morning. He formally handed over the truck keys to TTD additional EO Ch Venkaiah Chowdary in the presence of other Devasthanams officials. Venkaiah Chowdary thanked the donor for the contribution to the Tirupati trust.
About the Donation
The truck, valued at Rs 31.72 lakh, is expected to be used for transporting goods and materials for the temple's daily operations and various religious activities. This donation is part of Ashok Leyland's corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at supporting religious institutions and community welfare.
