Noida Airport Opens June 15: Traffic Plan Issued for Commuters
Noida Airport: Traffic Plan for June 15 Launch

Noida: With the Noida International Airport set to commence passenger and cargo operations on June 15, the district administration and traffic police have unveiled a comprehensive traffic and parking plan. This plan covers private vehicles, commercial cargo carriers, taxis, buses, and auto-rickshaws arriving from across Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and neighboring regions.

Distance and Travel Time

The airport is located approximately 65 km from Noida City Centre, 70 km from Ghaziabad, and around 80 km from Delhi’s Mayur Vihar. Travel times are expected to range between 75 and 120 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The Yamuna Expressway offers a largely signal-free high-speed route. While 110 electric buses and four hydrogen-powered city buses will serve airport connectivity, cabs and private vehicles are expected to be the primary mode of access.

Routes for Different Regions

Vehicles from Greater Noida West and Surajpur will reach the airport via the Yamuna Expressway through Pari Chowk and Zero Point, entering through Gate 1. Those arriving from Delhi via Chilla and the DND Flyway will travel through the Noida and Yamuna expressways, entering Gate 1 via the expressway interchange.

Passengers from Agra, Mathura, and Aligarh will access the airport through the Yamuna Expressway after crossing the Jewar toll plaza and Sabota underpass. Vehicles from Bulandshahr, Khurja, Gabhana, and Jahangirpur have similar arrangements, while travelers from Jewar, Tappal, and Palwal can approach through the Jewar township route.

Commuters from Meerut, Hapur, and Ghaziabad using the Eastern Peripheral Expressway have been assigned a dedicated route through Sirsa toll, Kasna, and the Yamuna Expressway before the airport interchange.

Commercial and Cargo Routes

Commercial and cargo vehicles will use separate routes to avoid interference with passenger traffic. Cargo carriers from Agra and the Noida Expressway side will use Jewar-Jhajhar Road and enter through Gate 2 near Kishorpur village. Dedicated routes have also been designated for vehicles from eastern and western Uttar Pradesh.

Parking Zones

The airport has designated four parking zones: Zone A for general parking, Zone B for app-based cabs and pick-and-drop operations, Zone C for staff vehicles, and Zone D for passenger vehicles. Taxi operators must remain in designated zones and move to pickup points only after receiving a booking.

Bus and Auto Services

City e-bus service starts on Monday. Buses will drop passengers near the first roundabout inside the interchange, from where airport-operated shuttles will ferry them to the terminal. Auto-rickshaws and motorcycles will park near the fuel station area, with shuttle access to the terminal. Arriving passengers will reach the parking area through an underground passage.

Permanent facilities in the parking area include a police post, canteen, EV charging stations, and washrooms. For traffic assistance, commuters can contact the helpline at 9971009001.
