FairPro 2026 Focuses on Chennai's North, Porur, Kundrathur Projects

CREDAI FairPro 2026 to Showcase Major Real Estate Projects in Key Chennai Areas

The 18th edition of FairPro, a prominent real estate property fair organized by the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India (CREDAI), is set to place a strong emphasis on North Chennai, Porur, and the south-western suburbs including Kundrathur. This event aims to bring together developers and buyers to explore a wide array of housing and commercial opportunities in these rapidly developing regions.

Focus Areas and Project Highlights

According to S Sivagurunathan, former president of CREDAI and an adviser to this year's fair, a significant majority of developers will be presenting their projects in these targeted areas. He elaborated, "At least four major projects slated for North Chennai will be featured at the fair. Additionally, projects along the Porur–Kundrathur stretch, as well as plots on East Coast Road (ECR), Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR), and GST Road, will be prominently showcased." This strategic focus underscores the growing interest and investment in these suburban and peripheral zones of Chennai.

Event Details and Scale

The fair will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam, spanning three days starting from Friday. Over 80 Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA)-approved developers are expected to participate, displaying more than 500 projects that have received clearance from the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA). These projects encompass a diverse range of developments, including residential housing, commercial spaces, and plotted developments across Chennai and its surrounding areas.

Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin will inaugurate the event, highlighting the government's support for the real estate sector and its role in urban development.

Market Trends and Buyer Preferences

Organizers have noted that the luxury housing segment, with prices ranging from Rs 1 crore to Rs 2 crore, along with the medium-range housing segment priced between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 70 lakh, are particularly in high demand among prospective buyers. Mothish Kumar, convenor of FairPro 2026, revealed that more than 50,000 units, covering an expansive area of 57.2 million square feet, will be available for purchase at the fair. The price bracket for these units starts from as low as Rs 15 lakh, catering to a broad spectrum of homebuyers.

Historical Context and Financial Support

Reflecting on the previous year's success, in 2025, the fair attracted 77 developers, recorded a footfall of 48,500 visitors, and generated business worth Rs 415 crore. This year's event aims to build on that momentum, offering enhanced opportunities for both developers and buyers.

In a move to facilitate home purchases, the State Bank of India has announced that it will provide housing loans at an attractive interest rate of 7.10%, subject to the borrower's CIBIL score. This financial support is expected to boost buyer confidence and stimulate transactions at the fair.

Overall, FairPro 2026 promises to be a significant platform for real estate enthusiasts, providing insights into the latest trends, projects, and financing options in Chennai's dynamic property market.
