Frustration is mounting among approximately 15,000 families residing in upscale high-rise apartments across Noida's sectors 142 and 143. Residents of prominent societies like Gulshan Ikebana, Victory Crossroads, Logix Blossom Greens, and Gulshan Dynasty have accused the Noida Authority of severe neglect regarding essential civic services, leading to a sharp decline in their quality of life.
Chronic Civic Failures and Social Media Pleas
The litany of complaints is long and consistent. Residents point to poorly cleaned roads, persistent waterlogging, inadequate drainage systems, and a glaring lack of maintenance for green spaces that were once a pride of the community. Ramesh Wangnoo, a resident of Gulshan Ikebana in Sector 143, exemplifies the collective despair. He has repeatedly taken to social media over the past year to alert the authorities, but his pleas have seemingly fallen on deaf ears.
"It feels like we are being ignored entirely," Wangnoo said. "The roads have become a dumping ground, and the greenery once nurtured in our community is now covered in dust due to lack of care." This sentiment is widely echoed, with many labeling the situation as a direct result of civic apathy.
Traffic Chaos and Health Hazards Compound Woes
Beyond basic upkeep, major infrastructure flaws are causing daily headaches. A significant traffic bottleneck exists where the main three-lane road from metro pillar 396 narrows abruptly to a single lane near SKA Apartments in Sector 142. This design flaw causes severe congestion, particularly during peak hours. The problem is exacerbated by rampant hawker encroachment at the nearby Shahdara market, further disrupting the flow of vehicles.
Adding to the peril are waterlogged and broken roads, which not only worsen congestion but also pose safety risks. The concerns extend to public health as well. A garbage dump in Sector 145 is emitting foul odours, prompting residents to urge the Authority for a swift resolution. Furthermore, night-time drives near Advant Business Park have become unpleasant due to toxic gases being released from open drains.
High Investment, Low Returns: Residents Demand Action
The sense of grievance is amplified by the substantial financial investment made by these families. With flat prices in these sectors ranging between Rs 2.5 crore to Rs 5 crore, residents argue they are entitled to far better living conditions that match their premium payments. "Civic neglect has become the bane of this posh sector," stated another aggrieved local, summarizing the widespread feeling of paying a premium for sub-par services.
Tired of empty promises and unheeded complaints, the collective of 15,000 families is now demanding immediate and concrete action from the Noida Authority to address the crumbling civic infrastructure. As of now, an official response from the concerned Authority is still awaited, leaving residents in a state of anxious anticipation.
