The four-lane, 800-metre long bridge over the Kasheli creek has been opened to traffic, providing partial relief to motorists using the new Mumbai-Nashik highway. However, widening work at several crucial sections, including those at Kharegaon and Pimplas, is yet to be completed.
Officials have stated that complete relief for motorists will only be achieved after the entire stretch of the highway from Majiwada to Amane is fully widened. The highway serves as a vital link connecting Mumbai with Nashik and the rest of North Maharashtra. It is also the sole connection to the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi highway, making it a critical artery for regional transportation.
The partial opening of the bridge is expected to ease congestion, but commuters are advised to remain cautious as ongoing construction may cause delays. The project is part of broader efforts to upgrade infrastructure in the region, aiming to improve travel efficiency and safety.
