Odisha CM Majhi to Lead Gujarat Roadshow for Investments

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is set to lead a three-day, four-city visit to Gujarat starting Tuesday to attract investment in key sectors, government authorities said.

Roadshow and Meetings

A flagship investors' roadshow will be held in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, followed by roundtable discussions with top industry leaders and one-on-one meetings to facilitate focused engagements.

Speaking ahead of the visit, Majhi said Odisha is fast emerging as a preferred investment destination backed by strong infrastructure and a skilled workforce. He said the Gujarat outreach is expected to open new opportunities, generate jobs, and attract industry partners to be part of the state's growth journey towards a 'Samruddha Odisha' by 2036.

Expected Outcomes

Officials said key outcomes of the visit are likely to include the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and exchange of Investment Intention Forms (IIFs), indicating growing investor interest in Odisha. Discussions will focus on high-potential sectors such as chemicals and petrochemicals, metals and downstream industries, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and textiles and apparel.

Port-Led Development

As part of its port-led development strategy, the delegation will visit Mundra Port on May 6 to explore opportunities in logistics and port-based industries. An investor interaction in Vadodara on May 7 is expected to further expand engagement with capital goods manufacturers. The delegation will also visit Kevadia as part of the official programme.

Strengthening Industrial Linkages

The visit aims to strengthen industrial linkages between eastern and western India by leveraging Gujarat's manufacturing strength and Odisha's expanding industrial base. It is expected to generate fresh investment interest from the west coast and deepen engagement with the Odia diaspora in Gujarat.

After similar outreach programmes in Hyderabad in December last year and Kolkata in January, the Gujarat roadshow marks another step in Odisha's efforts to attract investments, generate employment, and build long-term industrial partnerships, an official said.

The delegation includes Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain and senior government officials. The visit is expected to further strengthen Odisha's position as an emerging investment destination and accelerate its industrial growth.
