Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared that the recently finalized India-European Union free trade agreement represents a golden opportunity for Indian manufacturers to not only expand their businesses but also to win hearts and build enduring brand value across international markets. Speaking to journalists on the second day of the crucial Budget Session of Parliament, the Prime Minister framed this pivotal deal as a gateway for ambitious and aspirational Indian youth, aligning perfectly with the vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
A New Era of Solutions and Global Integration
PM Modi emphasized that the commencement of the second quarter of the 21st century marks a critical phase for India's transformation into a developed nation by 2047. He underscored that this period should be characterized by constructive solutions rather than political obstruction. "The world has high hopes in Bharat's democracy and demography. The way the country is moving forward, this is not the time for obstructions. It is the time of solutions," the Prime Minister asserted, making a direct appeal to all Members of Parliament to collaborate in accelerating the nation's progress.
Winning Hearts Through Quality and Brand Building
Elaborating on the strategic importance of the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), PM Modi described it as the "mother of all deals" that has flung open a massive market comprising 27 European nations. He urged Indian manufacturers to seize this moment by focusing relentlessly on product quality and excellence. "We should enter the market with the best quality. We cannot just earn money but also win the hearts of people of 27 EU countries. The companies and the country become a brand," he stated, highlighting the dual objective of economic gain and soft power enhancement.
The Prime Minister positioned a confident India as a global beacon of hope and attraction, noting that while analysis and commentary on the nation's trajectory are natural, there is widespread acknowledgment of the government's commitment to ensuring last-mile delivery of services and reforms.
Historic Budget and a Call for Parliamentary Unity
In his address, PM Modi also commended Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for her historic achievement of becoming the first woman minister to present her ninth consecutive Union Budget. He noted the symbolic significance of this budget as the first of the century's second quarter, a period he described as foundational for realizing the vision of a developed India.
"The image of this government is reform, perform and transform. We have boarded the Reform Express, and I appeal to all MPs to endeavour to give it speed. We have embarked on the path of long-term solutions," Modi said, reinforcing his call for parliamentary unity. He reflected on the President's address to the joint session, viewing it as an embodiment of the collective efforts and aspirations of India's 140 crore citizens.
Concluding his remarks, the Prime Minister reaffirmed India's balanced approach to progress, stating that while the nation will eagerly embrace new technologies, it will remain fundamentally sensitive and human-centric in its developmental journey.
