South Western Railway Extends Summer Special Train Services to Handle Increased Passenger Traffic
In response to the anticipated surge in passenger numbers during the summer season, South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the extension of multiple weekly express special train services. This strategic move aims to efficiently manage the extra rush and ensure smoother travel for commuters departing from key stations like Hubballi and Yesvantpur.
Extended Train Services from Hubballi
Train No. 07337 SSS Hubballi-Ghazipur City Weekly Express Special, which operates every Monday, was initially scheduled to run only until March 30. However, SWR has now extended its service period to cover April 6 to April 27. Correspondingly, the return service, Train No. 07338 Ghazipur City-SSS Hubballi Weekly Express Special running on Thursdays, has been extended from its original end date of April 2 to now operate from April 9 to April 30.
Additionally, Train No. 07315 SSS Hubballi-Muzaffarpur Weekly Express Special, a Wednesday service, was previously notified to run up to April 1. This train will now continue its operations from April 8 to April 29. Its return counterpart, Train No. 07316 Muzaffarpur-SSS Hubballi Weekly Express Special operating on Saturdays, has been extended from April 4 to now run from April 11 to May 2.
Extended Services from Yesvantpur
Beyond Hubballi, SWR has also extended services originating from Yesvantpur. Train No. 06543 Yesvantpur-Bikaner Weekly Express Special, a Wednesday train earlier scheduled until March 25, will now run from April 8 to April 29. In the return direction, Train No. 06544 Bikaner-Yesvantpur Weekly Express Special operating on Saturdays has been extended from March 28 to now operate from April 11 to May 2.
These extensions are part of SWR's proactive measures to accommodate the seasonal increase in travel demand, ensuring that passengers have reliable and additional options for their journeys during the busy summer months.
