FLY91 Enhances Domestic Connectivity with Hyderabad Flights

FLY91 has officially opened bookings for its new daily service connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada, with operations scheduled to begin on April 10. Initially, the airline will operate a single daily flight, but from April 17, this will be upgraded to double daily services. The flights will utilize ATR 72 aircraft, known for their efficiency on regional routes.

Jazeera Airways Launches Direct International Service to Kuwait

In a landmark addition, Jazeera Airways will inaugurate a direct international flight service from Kuwait to Vijayawada, with a stopover in Saudi Arabia. The service is set to launch on April 13 and will operate thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. This route marks Vijayawada Airport's third direct international connection, following existing services to Singapore and Sharjah.

Flight Timings:

  • Departure from Dammam, Saudi Arabia: 3:05 PM, arriving in Vijayawada at 11:05 PM.
  • Return flight departs Vijayawada at 11:50 PM, reaching Dammam at 3:10 AM.

Currently, Air India Express and IndiGo operate flights to Singapore and Sharjah from Vijayawada, though the Sharjah service has been temporarily suspended due to ongoing conflicts in West Asia. The new Kuwait route is expected to fill this gap and cater to the growing demand for international travel from the region.

Positive Reception from Business and Industry Leaders

The announcement has been warmly welcomed by local business communities. Potluri Bhaskar Rao, President of the AP Chambers of Commerce, highlighted the strategic importance of these new services. He emphasized that improved connectivity to Hyderabad will significantly boost trade and industry, while the international route to Kuwait will open up new opportunities for economic exchange and passenger travel.

Rao noted that these developments align with efforts to position Vijayawada as a key aviation node, enhancing its appeal for both domestic and international travelers. The expansion is seen as a critical step in supporting the region's economic growth and infrastructure development.

Overall, the phased rollout of these new flight services from Vijayawada Airport represents a pivotal moment in the city's aviation history, promising enhanced mobility and economic benefits for residents and businesses alike.
