Bihar Board BSEB Class 12 Exams 2026 Commence on February 2 for Over 13 Lakh Students

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is set to initiate its annual board examinations for the year 2026, with the Class 12 Intermediate exams starting from February 2. This significant academic event will see approximately 13.18 lakh candidates appearing for their tests at 1,762 examination centers spread across the state of Bihar. The Class 10 board exams are scheduled to begin later, from February 17, 2026.

Essential Guidelines for BSEB Intermediate Students

As the exam dates approach, BSEB has issued crucial guidelines that all Intermediate students must adhere to ensure a smooth and fair examination process. Here are the key points to remember:

  1. Arrival Time and Gate Closure: Students must reach the examination center at least one hour before the scheduled start time. The main entrance gates will be closed 30 minutes prior to the exam commencement. For the morning shift starting at 9:30 AM, entry begins at 8:30 AM, and gates close at 9:00 AM sharp. For the afternoon shift starting at 2:00 PM, entry begins at 1:00 PM, and gates close at 1:30 PM.
  2. Admit Card and ID Proof: On the exam day, candidates are required to carry a printed copy of their BSEB 12th admit card 2026 along with a valid photo ID. Entry into the examination hall will be strictly prohibited without the admit card.
  3. Dress Code and Footwear Rules: In line with previous years, students are not permitted to wear shoes and socks inside the examination hall. However, exceptions may be made under specific weather conditions. Generally, footwear with thick soles is not allowed, but students can wear shoes provided they do not have thick soles.
  4. Prohibited Items: The use of mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, smartwatches, and calculators is strictly banned for both students and staff, except for the Centre Superintendent.
  5. Consequences of Illegal Entry: BSEB has warned that any attempt to enter the center illegally after the gates are closed, such as jumping over boundary walls, will be treated as criminal trespass. Candidates found engaging in such acts will face expulsion for two years, and an FIR will be lodged against them.
  6. Special Provisions: Students who are unable to write may use a scribe and will receive an additional 20 minutes of extra time per hour to complete their exams.

Support and Assistance for Candidates

To address any issues or queries, BSEB has established a dedicated control room in Patna, which will remain operational 24 hours a day from February 1 to February 13, 2026. Candidates or their parents can contact the helpdesk at the following numbers for assistance:
