The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the results for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination will be declared next week. Re-Exam Details and Schedule
The NEET UG re-examination was conducted on July 8, 2026, for candidates who were affected by irregularities in the original exam held on May 3, 2026. The re-exam was held across multiple centers in India. According to an official statement from the Ministry of Education, approximately 1,200 candidates took the re-exam. The decision to hold a re-exam followed a Supreme Court directive on June 20, 2026, which found evidence of paper leaks and malpractices in certain centers.
NTA Director General Dr. Subodh Kumar Singh confirmed that the evaluation process is complete and results are being compiled. “We are in the final stages of result preparation. Candidates will be able to view their marks and percentile scores on the website,” he said.
How to Check the Result
Candidates can follow these steps to check their NEET UG re-exam result 2026: Visit the official NTA NEET website at neet.nta.nic.in. Click on the link that says “NEET UG 2026 Re-Exam Result”. Enter your application number and date of birth. Submit the details and download the scorecard. Take a printout for future reference.
The scorecard will include the candidate’s marks in each subject (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), total marks, percentile, and All India Rank (AIR). The NTA has also stated that a separate merit list for the re-exam candidates will be prepared, and they will be considered for admissions under the same category as their original application.
Impact on Admissions and Counseling
The release of the re-exam results will pave the way for the next phase of the admission process. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will begin the centralized counseling for NEET UG 2026 after the results are declared. Approximately 20 lakh candidates had registered for the original NEET UG 2026 exam.
