CBSE Class 10 Results 2026: Noida Region Celebrates Top Performers Despite Slight Decline in Overall Pass Rate
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officially declared the Class 10 examination results on Wednesday, unveiling a mixed performance landscape across the Noida region. While numerous students from the area delivered outstanding academic achievements, including several perfect scorers, the overall pass percentage experienced a marginal yet continued downward trend compared to previous years.
Exceptional Individual Achievements Highlight Academic Excellence
Among the standout performers, Daksh Vasudeva from Amity International School in Vasundhara’s Sector 6 achieved the remarkable feat of securing 100% marks. Close behind, Yogit Jain from JKG International School obtained an impressive 99.8%. Additional high achievers included Shreyashi Jha from Delhi Public School in Greater Noida and Armaan Mittal from Amity International School, both scoring 99.6%, alongside Trishar Das who also attained 99.6%.
It is important to note that CBSE does not officially release a consolidated list of toppers. Instead, individual schools publish their own merit lists to recognize their top-performing students.
Regional Pass Percentage Shows Gradual Decline
The Noida region, encompassing 18 districts including Gautam Budh Nagar and Ghaziabad, recorded an overall pass rate of 87.66% for the 2026 examinations. This figure represents a slight decrease from 89.41% in 2025 and 90.97% in 2024, continuing a gradual declining pattern. Despite this trend, the region maintained a robust success rate, with 1,34,787 students out of 1,53,763 candidates successfully clearing the examination.
A detailed gender-wise analysis reveals that girls significantly outperformed boys. The female pass percentage stood at 90.38%, with 57,339 of 63,440 candidates passing. In contrast, boys achieved an 85.8% pass rate, with 77,448 successful candidates out of 90,323. The examination was conducted on a substantial scale, involving approximately 3.1 lakh registered candidates across 1,375 schools and 332 examination centers throughout the 18 districts.
Educational Experts Call for Enhanced Focus on Core Subjects
Education professionals have highlighted the need for increased attention to fundamental subjects despite steady overall performance. Neha Sharma, CBSE district coordinator and principal at Apeejay School, emphasized this point, stating, "The relatively lower scores in English and mathematics remind us that we still have important work to do. These subjects are essential life skills. This is a gentle but important signal for schools and parents to collaborate more closely—to build strong reading habits, encourage expression, and make mathematics more experiential and less intimidating."
Sharma also expressed optimism about educational reforms, adding, "At the same time, it is heartening to see the system moving towards competency-based learning and reducing unhealthy competition."
Comparative Performance: Delhi and Gurgaon Regions
Delhi notably surpassed the national average pass percentage of 93.7%, achieving an impressive 97.2% success rate. This marks an improvement from 95.1% in 2025. Out of 3,14,562 students who appeared for the exam in the national capital, 3,05,787 cleared it successfully.
The Gurgaon region, comprising 12 districts including Faridabad, Gurgaon, Palwal, and Sonepat, also delivered strong results with a 93.2% pass percentage. Similar to Noida, this region witnessed several high performers achieving perfect scores.
CBSE Announces Schedule for Second Board Examination
Concurrently with the result declaration, CBSE released detailed guidelines and schedules for the Class 10 second board examination, designed for students seeking to improve their scores. According to the official notification, the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) will commence following the result announcement.
The examination process will unfold in multiple phases:
- First Phase: Scheduled from April 16 to April 20, this period will involve simultaneous LOC submission and examination fee payment.
- Third Phase: Conducted from April 21 to April 22, this phase will accommodate late fee payments.
The board notification clarified several important provisions for candidates:
- Students who wish to appear in the Second Board Examination but were not included in the First Phase LOC may now submit their names and pay the examination fee.
- Candidates whose names were submitted during the First Phase may proceed with fee payment.
- Students who previously registered but no longer wish to appear may withdraw their names.
- Mathematics option changes are permitted; students who offered Mathematics (Standard) in the Main Examination may opt for Mathematics (Basic) in the Second Examination.
This structured approach provides flexibility and opportunities for academic improvement, reinforcing CBSE's commitment to supporting student success through multiple assessment avenues.
