Student Alleges No Mark Increase in Swapped Physics Paper
Vedant Srivastava, a CBSE Class 12 student who earlier alleged that his Physics answer sheet was swapped with another student's, has now claimed that the re-evaluation process did not award him any additional marks in the subject. According to Vedant, while the CBSE had previously admitted the swap and assured correction during re-evaluation, his overall score saw no significant increase.
CBSE Statement Rebuts Claims
A purported statement from the CBSE circulating on social media rebutted Vedant's claims, stating that his score increased by 9 marks after re-evaluation. The statement called Vedant's claims a "blatant lie" and said it was factually incorrect that only one mark each increased in two other subjects with no increase in Physics. However, the CBSE did not confirm the authenticity of this statement.
Vedant's Response on Social Media
Responding to the statement, Vedant posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Hello @cbseindia29 the 9 marks increase in physics that you are talking about did not get increased through the process of re-evaluation, they are my true marks which you guys don’t gave me earlier because you exchanged my answer sheet, and 2 marks were increased 1 mark each in CS and Maths." He questioned how the CBSE could call his claims a lie, emphasizing that the 9-mark increase in Physics was due to the correction of the swapped answer sheet, not the re-evaluation process.
CBSE Re-evaluation Statistics
The CBSE further stated that 99.7 per cent of the applications received for revaluation following the Class 12 results have been processed. The remaining applications are in the final stages of review, and their results will be announced soon.
