GSHSEB Extends Class 10, 12 Exam Form Deadline to Dec 10; Late Fees Apply
Gujarat Board Extends Class 10, 12 Form Deadline

The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has provided crucial relief to students by announcing an extension for submitting their examination forms. The board has pushed the final date for the regular submission of online forms for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.

Revised Submission Timeline and Late Fee Structure

Originally, the deadline for students to complete their form-filling process was set for December 6. Recognizing that a significant number of students had not yet completed the procedure, the board has now extended this final date to December 10. This move is expected to benefit thousands of students across Gujarat who are preparing for their public exams scheduled for February.

For those who miss the revised deadline, the board has outlined a structured late fee submission window. This facility will be available in three distinct phases:

  • Phase 1 (December 11 to December 14): Students can submit forms with a late fee of Rs 250.
  • Phase 2 (December 15 to December 18): The late fee increases to Rs 300.
  • Phase 3 (December 19 to December 22): Forms will be accepted with a maximum late fee of Rs 350.

This graded system is designed to encourage students to submit their forms at the earliest possible opportunity within the extended window.

Important Clarifications and Exemptions

The form-filling process is mandatory for all Class 10, Class 12 general stream, and Class 12 science stream students who will be appearing for the state board exams. In a significant clarification, the board has stated that schools can make corrections to student details at any point without incurring extra charges. Furthermore, pending approvals from school principals can also be finalized until the final late date of December 22.

The board has also addressed fee exemption rules. While girl students and students with disabilities are exempted from paying the regular examination fee, this waiver does not extend to the late fee. All students submitting forms after December 10 will be required to pay the applicable late charge, regardless of their exemption status.

Advisory for Schools and Students

GSHSEB has advised all affiliated schools and their students to meticulously follow the instructions provided on the board's official website. Students are urged to complete the process well before the final deadlines to avoid last-minute technical issues and the financial burden of late fees. The board emphasizes using the extended timeline responsibly to ensure a smooth and error-free form submission for the crucial upcoming examinations.
