Gujarat TAT-HS Teacher Exam Dates Announced

Gujarat Announces Schedule for Higher Secondary Teacher Aptitude Test

The Gujarat State Examination Board has officially declared the examination dates for the crucial Teacher Aptitude Test for Higher Secondary (TAT-HS). The preliminary examination for this significant recruitment drive is scheduled to be conducted on March 29, marking a key milestone for aspiring educators across the state.

Registration and Fee Payment Timeline

Prospective candidates can initiate their application process through online registration, which will commence on February 10 and remain accessible until February 19. Following registration, the fee payment window via netbanking facilities will be open from February 10 through February 20, providing applicants with a streamlined digital process.

Two-Tier Examination Structure

The TAT-HS examination will be administered in a comprehensive two-tier format, meticulously designed to align with the transformative National Education Policy 2020 and the ambitious Mission Schools of Excellence initiative. This structured approach aims to recruit qualified teachers for registered government schools, grant-in-aid institutions, and private higher secondary schools throughout Gujarat.

Candidates who successfully achieve scores above the predetermined cut-off in the preliminary test will advance to the mains examination, which is tentatively planned for May. This selective process ensures that only the most capable educators progress to the final recruitment stage.

Preliminary Examination Details

The preliminary examination will consist of a 200-mark Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) paper, divided into two mandatory sections of 100 marks each. Examinees will have a total of 180 minutes to complete the test. Importantly, the exam will incorporate a negative marking scheme, deducting 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, emphasizing accuracy alongside knowledge.

Language Options and Examination Fees

To accommodate the diverse linguistic backgrounds of applicants, the examination will be offered in three languages: Gujarati, English, and Hindi. This inclusive approach ensures broader accessibility for candidates across the state.

The examination fee structure has been set at Rs 500 for general category candidates and Rs 400 for reserved categories, maintaining an equitable and affordable application process for all aspiring teachers.

This announcement represents a significant step in Gujarat's ongoing efforts to enhance educational standards through rigorous teacher recruitment, directly supporting the state's commitment to academic excellence under national policy frameworks.
