The Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) announced the Class 10 results on Thursday, revealing significant variations in district performance across the state. Charkhi Dadri emerged as the top-performing district with an impressive pass percentage of 96%, followed closely by Jind at 94.6%. In contrast, Nuh recorded the lowest pass percentage at 68.9%, a decline from last year's 73.9%.
Gurgaon's performance saw a decline, slipping from the 14th position in 2025 to 18th this year. The overall pass percentage across the state dropped from 92.8% last year to 89.4%. An education department official stated, 'The dip in performance will be analyzed, and focused academic support along with remedial measures will be introduced to improve results in the coming session.'
Gender Performance Gap
Girls outperformed boys by a margin of 3.95 percentage points statewide. The pass percentage for girls stood at 91.64%, while boys achieved 87.69%. Deepika from Bhiwani topped the state with an outstanding score of 499 out of 500 marks. Ronak from Bhiwani and Khushi from Hisar secured the second position, each with 498 marks.
Gurgaon District Toppers
In the Gurgaon district, Durvish emerged as the topper with 494 marks, followed by Nicki with 493 marks. Durvish, a student at Devki Kailash Public School in Pataudi, scored 100 marks each in Mathematics and Physical Education, 99 in Sanskrit, 98 in Social Science, 97 in English, and 86 in Hindi. His father, Anil Sharma, is a priest, and his mother, Chetna Sharma, is a homemaker. Durvish attributed his success to regular studies and tuition support, especially in subjects where he needed improvement. He has now enrolled in the Commerce stream in Class 11 at Keshav Vidya School in Pataudi and aspires to become a chartered accountant.
Rural vs Urban Performance
Across Haryana, rural students performed better than their urban counterparts. Rural students recorded a pass percentage of 90.25%, compared to 87.94% in urban areas. Private schools outperformed government schools, with a pass percentage of 92.45% against 89.4%.
Haryana Open School Results
In the Haryana Open School Class 10 fresh category, 5,772 candidates appeared, and only 645 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 11.17%. In the re-appear category, 1,885 out of 3,957 candidates passed, bringing the overall pass percentage to 47.64%.
