Chennai: Surge in Applications for Scanned Class XII Answer Sheets
This year, a total of 67,812 students have applied for scanned copies of their Class XII public examination answer sheets in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant increase from the 51,720 applications received last year.
Officials from the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) attribute this spike to the reduced number of centums (perfect scores) in subjects such as social science and accountancy. Students can download their scanned answer sheets until June 16 by logging into the official website www.dge.tn.gov.in with their registration number and date of birth. The scans will be released in a phased manner, subject-wise.
Availability and Next Steps
According to the DGE, scans have been made available for subjects including computer science, commerce, accountancy, computer applications, history, economics, and business maths, among others. Students are encouraged to apply for revaluation and retotalling of their answer sheets promptly.
Candidates can download the retotalling and revaluation forms from the website. They must submit the completed forms along with the prescribed fee in cash at the office of the Assistant Director of Government Examinations in their respective district by June 16, as stated in a circular issued by the department.
However, for candidates from the districts of Tenkasi, Ranipet, Tirupathur, Kallakurichi, Chengalpet, and Mayiladuthurai, the forms and cash payment must be submitted at the office of the respective Chief Education Officer.
Students are advised to check the website regularly for updates and ensure timely submission of applications for revaluation or retotalling if needed.
