Kerala Minister Includes Wayanad Victims in Micro Plan Scheme

Kozhikode: Minister for Agriculture T Siddique announced that all families in Phase One of the rehabilitation programme for Wayanad landslide victims will be included in the state government's micro plan entrepreneurship scheme. The financial assistance for beneficiaries under the scheme has been increased to Rs 2 lakh per family, the minister stated.

Minister Addresses Complaints

The minister made the announcement after beneficiaries brought to his attention complaints that many families had not received the funds previously sanctioned under the scheme. Beneficiaries highlighted the matter during a housewarming event organized by the 'Phase One Association' at the new township for landslide survivors on Sunday.

Waste Management Concerns

Families who had recently moved into their new homes also complained about the lack of adequate waste management facilities. The decision is expected to resolve the long-standing controversy surrounding the micro plan scheme.
