JEE Advanced 2026: IIT Roorkee announces key dates

The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee), the organising institute for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2026, has officially announced the complete schedule for the prestigious engineering entrance test. Aspiring candidates aiming for a seat in the IITs can now mark their calendars, as the registration window is set to open on April 23, 2026.

Key Dates and Registration Timeline

The online registration process for JEE Advanced 2026 will commence at 10:00 AM on April 23, 2026, exclusively for candidates who qualify in the JEE Main 2026 examination. The portal will remain open until 11:59 PM on May 2, 2026. All applications must be submitted through the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. It is crucial to note that the last date for payment of the registration fee is May 4, 2026.

For Foreign National and OCI/PIO candidates, a separate direct registration window will open earlier, starting from April 6, 2026, and closing on the same date as the general registration, May 2, 2026.

Examination Day and Result Declaration

The JEE Advanced 2026 examination is scheduled to be conducted in two sessions on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Paper 1 will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, followed by Paper 2 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates can download their admit cards from the official website starting May 11, 2026.

Following the exam, the evaluation process will be swift. Candidate response sheets will be made available on May 21, 2026. Provisional answer keys will be released on May 25, 2026, and a short window for submitting feedback will be open until 5:00 PM on May 26, 2026. The final outcome will be announced on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM, when the final answer key and the JEE Advanced 2026 results will be declared.

Post-Exam Procedures: AAT and Counselling

For aspirants seeking admission to the B.Arch programs, the Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT) 2026 will be held on June 4, 2026. Registration for the AAT will open immediately after the JEE Advanced results, from June 1 to June 2, 2026. The AAT results are slated for declaration on June 7, 2026.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process for IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other GFTIs is tentatively set to begin on June 2, 2026. This process will allocate seats based on the ranks obtained in JEE Advanced 2026 and JEE Main 2026.

JEE Advanced is the gateway for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture programs across all Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Only the top 2.5 lakh rank holders from JEE Main 2026, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), are eligible to appear for this highly competitive exam.
