The online application window for the Maharashtra Health and Technical Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) 2026 is now officially open. The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, commenced the registration process on January 10, 2026, for admissions to a wide range of undergraduate professional courses for the academic session 2026-27.
Key Dates and Exam Schedule for MHT CET 2026
Prospective candidates must mark their calendars as the MAH MHT CET registration window will remain open until February 12, 2026. The entrance examination itself will be conducted in two separate attempts in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format across various centers in Maharashtra.
The first attempt for both the PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) groups is scheduled to be held between April 11 and April 26, 2026. Students seeking a second chance will have the opportunity to appear for the exam from May 10 to May 17, 2026.
In a related development, the CET Cell has also initiated registrations for the MAH-MBA/MMS CET 2026. The first attempt for this management entrance test is slated for April 6, 7, and 8, with the second attempt on May 9, 2026.
Mandatory Documents and Registration Process
A crucial update for all applicants is the mandatory requirement of two specific IDs. Both Aadhaar ID and APAAR ID are compulsory for completing the CET registration. Students who have not yet generated their APAAR ID are required to create it through the DigiLocker platform before proceeding with their MHT CET application.
Candidates must ensure they possess a valid Aadhaar card from UIDAI. It is imperative that the details on the Aadhaar card are verified and accurately updated. These details include the candidate's name, date of birth (as per the Class 10 certificate), a recent photograph, address, father's name, and an active mobile number linked to the Aadhaar database.
The entire application process, including registration and final confirmation of the application form, must be completed online through the official website: cetcell.mahacet.org or mahacet.org. The website also hosts the detailed information brochure, which contains the complete eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and other vital instructions.
Special Provisions for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
The CET Cell has outlined specific guidelines for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) candidates. It is mandatory for PwD applicants to upload a Disability Certificate issued by a competent authority or a Unique Disability ID (UDID) card, if available. Authorities have advised PwD candidates to obtain a UDID card, as it may be required during the subsequent Common Admission Process (CAP).
Furthermore, PwD candidates who are eligible to avail the services of a scribe must submit detailed information of two potential scribes at the time of filling the online application. For each scribe, the required details include their name, Aadhaar number, a recent photograph, a bonafide certificate from their educational institution, and a certificate of their highest qualification.
As the process unfolds, candidates are strongly advised to regularly check the official CET Cell portal for all future updates, including the release of admit cards and any revisions to the examination schedule. With the deadlines set, aspiring students for engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture courses in Maharashtra should begin their application process promptly to avoid last-minute hurdles.
