The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the NEET UG 2026 admit card today, April 26, for over 22 lakh registered candidates. The hall ticket is now available for download on the official website neet.nta.nic.in ahead of the medical entrance examination scheduled for May 3, 2026.
How to Download NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
Candidates can follow these steps to download their hall ticket:
- Visit the official website at neet.nta.nic.in using a secure internet connection and a reliable browser.
- On the homepage, click on the link titled "NEET UG 2026 admit card" under the candidate activity section.
- Enter your application number and password or date of birth, then type the security pin exactly as displayed on the screen.
- After submitting the details, your admit card will appear on the screen. Verify all information carefully.
- Download the admit card in PDF format and take a clear printout on an A4-size sheet. Keep multiple copies for examination and admission purposes.
Details to Verify on the Admit Card
After downloading, candidates must check the following details: name, roll number, application number, gender, category, medium of examination, examination date, reporting time, test timing, test centre code, centre name, and full address. Any discrepancy should be reported immediately to the NTA before the exam date.
Exam Pattern and Language Options
NEET UG 2026 will be conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm. The paper consists of 180 compulsory multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 720 marks. The subject-wise distribution is as follows: Biology (Botany and Zoology) includes 90 questions for 360 marks, while Physics and Chemistry each have 45 questions for 180 marks. The examination will be held in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. Candidates opting for a regional language will receive bilingual question booklets with English alongside their chosen language.
Dress Code and Prohibited Items
Candidates must wear light clothing with short sleeves. Slippers and low-heeled sandals are permitted. Those wearing customary attire should report early for frisking. Items such as mobile phones, calculators, watches, handbags, printed papers, stationery, metallic objects, and electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall. Biometric verification and frisking will be conducted at all centres. Medical exemptions related to dress require prior approval from NTA.
Important Instructions for Exam Day
Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card, a valid government-issued photo ID, and passport-sized photographs identical to those used in the application form. The hall ticket is mandatory for entry; no duplicate will be issued at the centre. NTA has warned against fake websites and unverified links, urging candidates to rely only on official portals: nta.ac.in and neet.nta.nic.in.
Evaluation Rules
In case of disputed questions, if more than one option is correct, candidates selecting any correct option will receive four marks. If all options are correct, all candidates attempting the question will get four marks. If a question is dropped or found incorrect, all candidates who appeared will be awarded four marks.
The release of the admit card marks the final major pre-examination stage before NEET UG 2026, which will be held next Sunday, May 3.
